At the time of this video, the 2020 novel coronavirus global pandemic is in its fifth month. One byproduct of the pandemic has been a worldwide rise in acts of ethnic and racial prejudice. Mainstream Western media typically presents Chinese people, and people mistaken as Chinese, as the most affected. However, taking a broader view and looking at international media, the surprising fact is that Africans, ethnic groups in India’s north east, and Western immigrants and tourists, are actually the most affected, and that the regions in which the worst abuse is taking place, are Africa, India, and China. This video shows how the coronavirus encouraged racism.
